Lactose Free
Milk

Discover our lactose free milk range

All our milk products are sourced locally from Australian cows and contain real milk. This means you can still enjoy all those important nutrients found in real dairy, without any lactose that might upset your tummy. Choose from our range of full cream, low fat, skim, and chocolate flavoured milk.

What is lactose free milk?

Lactose free milk is still made from cow’s milk and is packed full of calcium to keep your teeth and bones strong. It’s rich, creamy, and full of the dairy goodness you’re used to, just without the lactose. To break it down, lactose is a naturally occurring sugar found in milk. Our bodies usually break this sugar down naturally thanks to an enzyme found in our digestive system called lactase.

Although, for those who are lactose intolerant, this usually means they have much lower lactase levels and struggle processing lactose. We manually add the lactase enzyme to our dairy to remove the lactose from our milk, making it much easier to digest.

Calories in lactose free milk

The process of removing lactose from milk doesn’t impact the amount of calcium or protein contained. Our lactose free milk range contains approximately the same calories as regular milk. Per 100ml, our full cream milk contains 64 calories, our low-fat milk contains 43 calories, and our skim milk contains 35 calories.

Carbs in lactose free milk

Much like with calories, removing lactose from our milk products doesn’t change the amount of carbohydrates compared with their lactose-containing counterparts. All our lactose free milk range contain 5.1 grams of carbohydrates per 100ml. This is very similar to the amount of carbs you’d expect to find in regular milk products.

Easy to Digest

If you’re someone who struggles digesting lactose, you may be lactose intolerant. All our milk products have the lactose broken down into glucose and galactose during the manufacturing process by adding a natural enzyme known as lactase. This enzyme breaks down the lactose well before the product hits the shelves. This means you can consume our range safely.

Lactose free milk
vs dairy free milk

It’s important to note the difference between dairy free and lactose free when it comes to milk. All our milk products contain real dairy – they’ve simply had the lactose broken down. Including some dairy in your diet is important to fuel your body with the important nutrients it needs to remain healthy. Our lactose free milk still maintains that rich and creamy dairy taste because it’s using real dairy. Simple, right?
